Description
The Näyttely chair by Ornäs features a robust solid wood frame with a padded, upholstered seat and an ornamental braided back, which makes the chair easily recognisable and pleasant to sit. The Näyttely chair is a true masterpiece of skilled craftsmanship – hand-braiding and upholstering the chair takes even an experienced artisan an entire day to complete. Hiort af Ornäs originally designed the Exhibition collection, launched in 1955, for interiors of Finnish embassies. The Näyttely series was re-launched in 2021, and the products are still today manufactured in Finland using original techniques. Their appearance honours the design traditions of the 50s yet blends in effortlessly with any contemporary decor.
