Neodymium is actually a veryexpensive material so most manufacturers do not use it. The neo magnet alsoallows the speaker to weigh half of what standard marine speakers weighs.In addition, the neo magnet adds more control to the voice coil of thespeaker resulting in increased power handling and higher fidelity soundquality.
