Project Renegades is the brainchild of three classically trained perfumers who broke free of the corporate world. A cavalcade of creativity, this series of scents is based around a no-holds barred approach to perfumes. Whether it's the peyote-infused Wild West-focused packaging (complete with detachable cowboy fridge magnet avatars) or the layered, challenging complexity of the formulations themselves, Project Renegade is an unapologetic ode to joyful sensory overload. Truly, these are auteur-produced scents. 'Renegades is about playing around, not taking ourselves too seriously', says Geza Schoen, creator of his eponymous scent. The Berlin-based perfumer's Renegades fragrance is constructed around pink pepper, creating a portrait of the whole tree - berries, bark and leaves. With citrusy top notes of lemon, lime and bergamot, a heart of fir, juniper and asmanthus absolue and a deeply affecting heart of heady myrrh, moss, incense and sandalwood, a steel thread of pink pepper winds its way through this exemplary soon-to-be-cult fragrance.
