Ultraweave Upper
Made from Puma's Ultraweave Upper, the Fast-R 2 Nitro Elite's have an ultra-light construction, designed to keep your feet comfortable, and lightweight as well as, keeping them breathable. The upper materials have a 4-way stretch design which further reduces the weight and allows the foot to move comfortably, whilst providing a perfect sock-like fit. The perforations within the fabric allow cool air to flow, whilst hot muggy air escapes, providing a cooling sensation as you move and a drier, healthier environment for your feet to thrive. Not only this, but the upper is highly durable thanks to its construction, leaving you with shoes that are built to last. On the instep of the shoes, Puma has added PWRTAPE, which has been designed to provide structure to the shoe as well as support, whilst also providing you with protection in areas that are more high-wearing. Finally, the traditional laces provide you with a secure, locked-in feel as you move.
Nitro Elite MidsoleShowcasing a unique, lightweight design, the midsole of the Fast-R 2 Nitro Elite has been created using Puma's most elite foam, Nitro Elite. This is a nitrogen-infused foam, which is lightweight and springy, and provides you with high energy return and responsiveness. Infusing nitrogen into the foam, Puma has been able to expand their midsoles, by doing so the shoes are extremely comfortable underfoot whilst also providing maximum propulsion with each step, letting you run further and faster with ease. Not only will the foam help propel you forward helping you to hit those PBs, but it also absorbs shocks and negative impact forces as you strike hard unforgiving surfaces, by doing so this reduces stress on the joints and the risk of injury. In providing this outstanding midsole compound, the shoes provide an outstanding 22% more energy storage than their predecessors, and up to 46% more raw energy return, providing you with an exceptionally lightweight, more economical ride, saving you minutes from your marathon. Alongside this, the exposed PWRPLATE extends through the midsole, which is a carbon-fibre plate that works to further enhance energy return and forward propulsion, keeping you focused on your target.
PUMAGRIP OutsoleMade using PUMAGRIP materials on the outsole of the Fast-R 2 Nitro Elites, the shoes have a maximum level of grip on a multitude of surfaces, allowing you to step out to conquer the racecourse in full confidence of achieving serious speed. This outsole construction combines a perfect combination of hardness for durability and softness for grip, thanks to a construction that has been optimised specifically for wet grounds.
