Welded Upper
Constructed using a welded upper, the Cross Hike 2 Walking Boots ensure that your foot stays in place with every stride for added comfort and support throughout your runs. Connected to the upper on both sides is the tongue to prevent debris from entering the boot and keep the tongue centred and comfortable against the foot. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the boot; it supplies a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside, keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. The stitch-free upper sits comfortably against the skin and reduces the risk of chafing and irritability. This mid-cut version wraps your ankle for extra protection and a secure foothold. Completing the upper is a Quicklace lacing system which provides a minimalistic and strong lace for a one-pull tightening ensuring you get the boots on and off with minimal effort. A lace pocket is useful as it allows the laces to be stowed away making sure they do not get caught or snagged on any sticks or bushes out on the trail, reducing distractions.
Energy Cell MidsoleWithin the midsole, the boot has injected and compressed EVA which forms the EnergyCell midsole. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection thanks to this dual-density EVA. Towards the bottom, the EVA is extremely firm to absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole. The energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The higher you get in the midsole, the EVA becomes less densely packed, making every step feel comfortable. An EVA sockliner also exists underfoot to provide the foot with a cushioned and cooler environment, whilst also reducing the risk of irritation caused by rubbing and chafing.
Mud Contagrip OutsoleTackle any trails in supreme confidence that you won't be let down by your boot's grip. Using Mud Contagrip, the outsole can form a solid grip between boot and terrain. Mud Contagrip is built for maximum traction on loose, soft, rugged, and uneven surfaces and is durable enough to withstand the toughest trails. Built with large Y-shaped lugs, the Cross Hike delivers optimum grip to keep you grounded on tough terrain. When you are running on wet and muddy ground, the boot's deep lugs dig into the ground, anchoring you in place. This will also benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking a stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking and changing direction.
