Salomon INDEX.03 Running Shoes
Rising for a third reiteration, the INDEX.03 takes its sustainable mission and running performance very seriously. It's designed to be disassembled and reinjected into a second life in ski boots, the upper construction optimises material consumption and uses undyed fabrics for a reduced footprint.
Fully-Recyclable Polyester Upper
A sustainable, environmentally-conscious option for an upper, the INDEX.03s utilise a fully recyclable Polyester upper, which has not only been constructed using undyed fabrics to reduce the footprint of the shoes but can also be recycled into a new product once the shoes are no longer usable. These materials are highly breathable, and comfortable, to ensure feet remain cool and cosy during training, by allowing a constant supply of airflow to travel through the shoes. The shoes have moisture-wicking properties, which help to prevent the growth of sweat and moisture, ensuring your feet remain dry. The seamless design prevents feet from becoming uncomfortable and reduces the amount of irritation and abrasion that's caused during movement. The soft collar and tongue sit comfortably against your foot, to further reduce the amount of irritation that's caused during your run, and keep the shoes secure. Working alongside this, a traditional lace-up system keeps feet locked in and secure, preventing in-shoe slipping from occurring and allowing you to get the best fit.
InfiniFOAM MidsoleThe INDEX.03s utilise an InfiniFOAM midsole compound to ensure the shoes remain ultralight in weight, whilst also being ultra-soft in terms of the level of cushioning that's supplied. This soft midsole provides you with excellent levels of cushioning that won't sacrifice the energy return or responsiveness of the shoes, allowing you to clock miles in first-class comfort. The shoes have a TPU bottom unit, which has been constructed using sustainable resources and has been moulded to match the contours of your foot to provide superior cushioning as well as enhance breathability and durability. Alongside this, the midsole is combined with a reverse camber to deliver a radically fluid ride. This has been inspired by Salomon's ski heritage and helps you feel like you are floating over the ground. The reverse camber allows you to spend less time on the ground and therefore allows for a faster ride.
Contagrip OutsoleProviding you with grip on flat, hard surfaces, alongside a compound that balances durability and adhesion, the INDEX.03 Running Shoes utilises a Contagrip outsole. The outsole has been developed to promote friction on smooth surfaces for superior traction throughout the ground contact phase. The outsole is also resistant to more abrasive surfaces so that your footwear continues to perform, mile after mile. The lugs on the outsole are wide and flat to ensure efficient and safe propulsion.
