Matryx Upper
Constructed using a Matryx upper, the Salomon S/LAB Alpine Trail Running Shoes are ideal for rugged scrambles and technical trails thanks to the durable nature of the material. Matryx is a newly developed fabric that offers high-performance abrasion resistance with comfortable breathability at a lightweight. Matryx technology acts as a second skin that cradles your foot for a precise fit and secure foothold without compromising breathability. This durable fabric provides excellent support to the upper, perfect for trail running, whilst allowing constant airflow to keep feet feeling cool, dry and comfortable throughout. Cool, fresh air is allowed to enter the shoe, encouraging any warm build-up to escape. A reinforced toe cap further enhances the durability of the upper and provides additional protection when running on unpredictable terrain. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system that secures the midfoot for more stable footing on the trail. This lace closure allows you to customise the fit to suit your needs whilst also preventing the risk of injury by minimising in-shoe slippage.
Cushioned MidsoleWithin the midsole, the shoe has a low-to-the-ground, firmer bed of cushioning for lightweight responsiveness. This responsive midsole will provide both comfort and protection on the trail by absorbing shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. The energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The lightweight midsole ensures your feet are protected against unpredictable and rocky terrain as you move through the trails whilst also keeping you feeling light on your feet and free to go faster on trail runs.
Durable Rubber OutsoleBased on Salomon's bestselling soft-ground design, the S/LAB Alpine features a new outsole that keeps you agile and confident on challenging terrain. The full rubber outsole provides excellent traction on alpine terrain ensuring a solid bond between you and the ground. As well as this, the outsole also features multidirectional lugs which dig deep into the ground when braking or changing direction. The deep lugs are able to anchor the foot into the ground, securing you into place whilst also forming a solid base to push off from.
