TPU Mesh UpperDesigned to provide a smooth, glove-like fit and feel, the upper of the Salomon S/LAB Phantasm Running Shoes has been constructed using a TPU mesh upper. The single-layer mesh ensures enhanced breathability whilst remaining as lightweight as possible. Perforations within the fabric create a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive in; the mesh allows cool air to flow into the garment whilst, at the same time allows hot humid air to escape so you can remain cool, dry and comfortable at all times. As well as this, the seamless featherlight collar is soft, comfortable and minimalist without sacrificing fit. Completing the upper is a lacing system that locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
Energy Surge MidsoleThe midsole has been constructed using Salomon's signature Energy Surge Midsole that provides lightweight and responsive cushioning. The midsole provides excellent shock-absorbing properties to help protect the foot from shock and impact force. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection for all-day wear. Towards the bottom, the midsole is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. As well as this, an R.Camber has also been used within the midsole to provide lightweight cushioning and comfort. Inspired by Salomon's ski heritage, this curved midsole geometry helps you feel like you are floating over the ground. The reverse camber allows you to spend less time on the ground and therefore allows for a faster ride.
Contagrip OutsoleTackle any trails in supreme confidence that you won't be let down by your shoe's grip. Using Contagrip, the outsole is able to form a solid grip between shoe and terrain. The rubber is also extremely durable and abrasion-resistant, which means long-term control is guaranteed. When you are on the wet and muddy ground, the shoe's deep lugs dig into the ground, which will anchor you in place. This will also benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking a stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking and changing direction.
