Scarpa Instinct S Climbing Shoes

This high performing and versatile climbing shoe is designed for steep athletic rock routes and indoor climbing in mind. The Instinct S is the most flexible version in the Instinct collection, taking advantage of the new CTS technology.

Constructed using a microfibre upper, the Scarpa Instinct S Climbing Shoes are worthy of any outdoor adventure. Designed to provide the right amount of flexibility and support, the upper conforms to the shape of the foot yet, retains its elasticity for a better, more supportive fit. The microsuede upper ensures the shoes hold their shape for longer than other leather equivalents plus, its soft on the skin for complete comfort. The upper is built around the down-turned toe last of the Instinct family ensuring precise toe placements with high levels of feedback so you can perform to your best ability. The heel is bonded directly to the outsole meaning you get the same level of support and durability in the heel as you do in the outsole. The rubber in the heel protects you from knocks whilst heel stitching is effective in relieving pressure on the Achilles tendon for added comfort. Added protection also comes from the rubberised toe box which protects the toes from knocks and scrapes, and is ribbed to support secure toe hooking. Completing the upper is a single velcro strap that keeps your feet firmly secured to your foot even on the most uncompromising climbs. The Instinct has a specially designed Y-shaped panel system where the single Velcro strap pulls across a larger area thereby providing a tighter snugger fit.

The midsole of the Instinct S Climbing Shoes is low in profile to save on weight and increase underfoot feel. The Flexan midsole is 1.0mm thick to ensure a level of support that doesn't compromise on sensitivity. The midsole spreads the force in the forefoot and allows for excellent flexibility in the rear of the shoe so you can edge into the smallest crevices with the confidence you can get back out again. The Instinct is moderately downturned to allow your feet to form a position that's best for climbing. The Bi-Tension rand is specially designed to connect the toe and the heel of the shoe to increase overall performance. It is power from the toes, rather than cramming your toes painfully forward, giving an immediate performance with less tension.

Develeoped using a Vibram XS Edge Outsole, the Instinct S Climbing Shoes ensure maximum support whether you're outdoor, indoor or lead climbing. This specialist outsole allows you to focus your weight on the tiniest of holds and keeps its shape in tough conditions. A truly robust outsole, the XS Edge can endure repeated abuse in hot and cold weather conditions giving you a shoe that can truly perform in all weather conditions. The rigid nature of the outsole supports you during any climb by adapting to the ground below you and bearing your weight as you move from rock type to rock type. The superior rigidness of this shoe is counterbalanced by adaptability and sensitivity. The outsole allows for a more natural feel ensuring you can detect rocks beneath your feet for a barefoot experience. The increase in ground feel allows you to adapt to different terrain so you can ensure hold at all times.
