The decline of Western Civilzation was originally released in 1981 causing outrage and controversy with its candid portrait of the burgeoning L.A. hardcore punk scene. This was followed by equally celebrated and revealing films: Part II: The Metal Years and Part III which explored the lives of L.A.'s 'gutter punks'. Featuring interviews and performances from some of the most influential musicians and bands of their time (Germs, Black Flag, Fear, Circle Jerks, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne and many more), these legendary films stand among the greatest in the history of the music documentary.
