Stephen Huneck was an American wood carving artist, furniture maker, painter, and author. Inspired largely by his black lab Sally, his most iconic works are vibrant woodcut prints of dogs. After a near-death experience, Huneck had a vision to build a Dog Chapel, calling it the largest and most personal artwork of his life. His whimsical prints also illustrate 10 children's books based on Sally. Huneck leaves behind a reputation as a sculptor with a playful twist as well as the legacy of Dog Mountain.
