Willow Bascom�s love for indigenous art was ignited by living in Saudi Arabia and Panama as a child, and it was fed by her childhood travels around the world. A self-trained artist, the basis of Willow�s distinctive style is the mola, a fabric art of the Kuna people of Panama. On that foundation she has allowed the influence of indigenous styles from around the world to inform her unique perspective. The diversity of Willow�s style will be showcased in her book, Paisley Pig and Friends: A Multicultural ABC, which will be published by Publishing Works (publishingworks.com) in April, 2010.
