Named after the iconic charm zipper pull, the Medallion Tote is one of Chanel's best sellers on the resale market today. Launched in 2006, this now discontinued compact tote features a large CC motif, classic Chanel quilting, and long top handles. It was produced mostly in caviar leather - although you can find lambskin, patent leather, and even velvet - the medallion coming in either gold or silver hardware. Coco Chanel founded her namesake brand in 1910 when she opened a hat shop called Chanel Modes. Coco expanded her high-fashion product offerings and added sportswear, jewelry, handbags, tweed suits, and her first Haute Couture house. In 1982, Karl Lagerfeld was brought in as Creative Director to revive the brand. He reintroduced the Cruise collection, restored Haute Couture, successfully launched Chanel's Ready-to-Wear collection, and introduced the now so famous Classic Flap Bag with its instantly recognizable CC logo.
